Titbits about the Machine
Aston Martin Racing announced the new Vantage GT3 race car, based on the V12 Vantage road car, which will be ready for competition in 2012.
The Vantage GT3 will replace the DBRS9, launched in 2006 at Le Mans, and which has since seen 26 chassis built and raced to multiple victories in national and international series across the world most recently winning in the Australian GT at Mount Panorama in October last year and achieving a podium finish at Zolder last week. The new Vantage GT3 joins the Vantage GT2, GT4, DBR9 GT1 and the AMR-One LMP1 to create the largest and most comprehensive range of Aston Martin race cars to date.

Designed to FIA regulations, the Vantage GT3 will be built around the Vantage aluminum VH architecture with a lightweight dry-sumped 6.0 liter V12 engine, based on the V12 Vantage road car. The new car will have a race semi-automatic paddle shift Xtrac gearbox and the latest race-developed ABS and traction control systems, optimized for the Vantage GT3. Aston Martin Racing has set a target weight of 2756 lbs (1250 kg) and target engine performance figures of more than 600 hp and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm). The first car will be completed in July 2011 and will undertake an extensive test and development program during the rest of the year. Ten customer cars will then be built ready for delivery for the start of the 2012 season.
Aston Martin is expanding their V8 Vantage lineup with the addition of the S version, which is model featuring ‘enhanced dynamics’.
Support by 4.7 litre V8 engine has been engineered to deliver peak power of 430 bhp (436 PS / 321 kW) at 7300 rpm and torque of 490 Nm (361 lb.ft) at 5000 rpm and is coupled with a new ground-up developed Sportshift™ II transmission specifically designed for the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S with seven short ratio gears to deliver the most engaging and intense driver involvement.
At the core of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S is the new seven speed Sportshift™ II automated manual transmission, offered as standard and delivers exceedingly rapid gear changes, twenty per cent quicker than Sportshift™.
The Aston Martin V8 Vantage S is instantly recognizable as a true Aston Martin, characterized by its purposeful stance conveying its agility and performance capability. From the front, a new lower front bumper finished in perfectly-aligned carbon fiber houses a larger
air intake feeding the engine and front brakes. The splitter combined with the extended deck lid ‘flip’ work in harmony to provide increased down force at speed.New 19 inch ‘V’ spoke wheel styles are available as standard, while an optional 10-spoke lightweight forged wheel option, reduces unsprung mass further. A new rear bumper and side sills optically widen the car.
Sportshift™ II allows the driver to take an increased level of control, modulating the throttle pedal to achieve the desired type of gear change. In addition, the Vantage S features a ‘Sport’ button which quickens the gear changes and gives the driver a more aggressive throttle response while also opening the exhaust bypass valves across most of the engine speed range perfectly characterizing the ‘S’variant.
As with every Aston Martin, the Vantage S benefits from its own unique sound with a new exhaust muffler and bypass valve map, creating a very distinctive and highly vocal exhaust note.

The Vantage S is available to order now from Aston Martin’s global dealership network.

BigBoyz Ent. Sexylicious Diva Tipsy a.k.a Oluwachingchong 3 Nominations for NMVA

When she came out with her first ever single "KOMIJE" little did we know she was not just a flash in the pan but a determined talent.

Better known as Tipsy Oluwachingchongzinga, Yewande Abiodun has the heavenly powers to thank for making her childhood dream a reality ( despite her mother's initial disagreement....lol).

Why you may ask....her efforts and talent has gotten her three nominations for one of her singles "Ching Chong" at the upcoming N.M.V.A ( Nigeria Music Video Awards). The song is off her forthcoming album and has a cameo (ably directed by JJC Skillz for BigBoyz Ent.)which stands it out and for which she got two of her three nominations (Best Use of Visual Effects and Video of the Year) . The other award being for Best Reggae/Dancehall Video).

Video link for Ching Chong on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tITNARgY9PI

Indeed it is a good time for the Sexylicious Diva representing with BigBoyz Ent. London.

Brief Biography
Born Yewande Abiodun in a family of four, music has always been a gate-away avenue at expressing her rather shy countenance. For her in a family of educationists, Yewande has always had the knack to releasing her innermost feeling through music despite stiff and stern opposition from her mother especially.
In her words, " I'm the last child and doing music is hard cos to my mum I be outcast oo...unto say she think I no wan read", very witty indeed. But like a known fact, no amount of dilution can taint the colour white as it is through its hue that others derive their shine.

This protege of Akure in Ondo State with an amazing bundle of talents better known as OluwachingchongTipsy (Tipsy for short) has within the short period of her emergence grown both in talent and fan base.
September 2010 saw this sexy Diva step out with what she prefers to call a freestyle session, a track titled KOMIJE which quickly warmed its way into the hearts of music lovers all the way from London where she resides. Currently she is signed to BIGBOYZ ENT London alongside Award winning Ace Producer/Artiste JJC Skillz of the AWOOOO fame, AB Fresh, Nooni etc.

Tipsy has two fresh tracks currently tearing the airwaves apart in Nigeria from far away London titled WANT MORE and BAMIDELE ft DeeBee of Collabo fame which were produced by Teebeeo (who also featured on one of her songs alongside JJC Skillz) for BigBoyz Ent London.
Funny enough a first time encounter with this Divalicious Queen of Party Rockaz portrays a rather shy female whose lyrical prowess aptly looms into limelight once she takes a stand behind a microphone. She has worked with producers like Teebeeo and JJC Skillz and still has musical works with artistes like Hip Hop Fuji Maestro 9ice, Orezi, Seriki, Ajayi Brothers, Rayce and Harrysong of Questionsmark Records in her kitty. Her forthcoming sophomore album "20th London Bridge" is due to drop soon under BigBoyz Ent London. An ardent and talented performer, Tipsy has graced events in UK with Hip Hop Fuji King 9ice where she thrilled the ecstatic audience with energetic on-stage stage craft/showmanship.

Deriving inspiration from her role models 9ice, Terry G and JJC Skillz this soft-spoken and swaggalicious Diva is set to take the Nigerian music scene by storm as she intends to take the reins of power of the Diva clan from the likes of Sasha, Mo'Cheeda, Omawunmi, Eva, Muna etc when she finally steps into the ring of contention later in 2011.

Oluwachingchongzinga another alias of hers is truly becoming the Prima Donna of the Diva Clan of the Nigerian Music Industry.

Check her fanpage on facebook and join up http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tipsy/149900795055606

And did I mention she also has a brand new single titled "Emi Naa Ni"? Hmmmm this Diva is on fire...ya'll better recognize GBAM!!!

NMVA 2011...and the Nominees Are.....

The 2011 nominees list for the Nigeria Music Video Awards  are finally out, with Darey and Jodie topping the list with four nominations each and followed closely by Goldie and Freestyle with three nominations. Other great contenders are Omawumi, Sammie Okposo, Dipp, T.I.V and Tipsy who all have two nominations.
For the first time since its inception, NMVA has included Best Southern Africa Video and Best Western Africa Video as new categories in this year’s award.
The awards organizers re-instated their commitment to transparency and as such are weary of all lobbyists warming them to stay at bay as only good videos will be duly rewarded.
In furtherance of the organizers believe for traditional values, this year’s event has been tagged ‘Celebrating Our Cultural Heritage.
The Federal Ministry of Tourism has endorsed the project as a viable national brand deserving all institutional and corporate sponsorship, also this year’s edition of the award will be hosted by the Lagos State Government.

"He stubbornly refused and went ahead to release the track"...Don Jazzy responds to Kelly Hansome Arrest

Kelly Hansome was not Arrested cos if we really intend to do that he’ll not be out. All what we did was involve the law so as not to take matters into our hands like most people might result to in this kind of situation. We just wanted a proper documentation to make him hands off MoHits intellectual property.

We were informed of him using the beat I made for D’banj and 2face that’s not even supposed to be out at all, but was leaked by a music site some weeks back. Despite the fact that Kelly has not really been a lover of MoHits which he has made clear in countless unreplied diss tracks, we still made an effort to send him messages not to release the said track. But he stubbornly refused and went ahead to release the track. That is why we now decided to get the law involved by sending our lawyers to get on it. Police was just involved obviously to make sure things don’t get rowdy. We do not own or control the police to tell them how to do their job. You know how some police can take some matters personal anyway. All in all we got our apology letter and he signed the undertaking to leave our music alone. A lot of people including MI have remixed our works before in the past and we did not complain cos it’s allowed sometimes. But not in this case I’m sorry.
A collabo between D’banj and 2face (who is our mentor) is a big deal for us and we intend to still work on the original song. So Kelly using it is not acceptable for now. I do not believe in beef like my fans know. But come on, there is only so much insult one can take, and riding on a Don Jazzy beat without my permission after openly calling us all sort of names is definitely a cheeky move from him.
This incident has been resolved and doesn’t stop me from dancing to some of his diss songs that I like and the ones he might come up with after this. Neither does it stop me from being his fan. I think he is a talented brother with so much potentials if he could calm down a little #myopinion.
There was no form of violence recorded in resolving this issue.
The music industry moving forward is all we preach but not by beef or taking other people’s property. Please read with maturity and understand that we mean nobody any harm. If you think otherwise then I’m sorry. Maybe you’ll understand someday. Thanks for the love and support. May God bless us all. IDJA

Sylvia Nduka Doing It

The morning of day four began with tryouts for the sports fast track event at Miss World 2011. The girls managed to keep a smile on their faces as they preformed a range of different challenging tasks, commenting afterwards that despite the hard-work, it was still lots of fun. Germany and Mexico agreed that the push-ups were the hardest part of the tryouts.
Nigeria, who commented that she’s not usually a sporty person, still thought it was fun and a huge adrenaline rush.
The sport’s tryouts consisted of push-ups, chair leg lifts, sit-ups and more, all of which were timed at intervals of 30 seconds, where the girls were required to do as many as they could in that time. Jogging and stretching were also required before and after the event, ensuring that the girls were properly warmed up and cooled down.

Faze out with Am In The Mood video from forthcoming album REFAZED

King of R&B (Rhythm & Blues) FAZE of the defunct Plantashun Boiz group is back bigger and sexier in REFAZED.

His forthcoming album REFAZED boasts of such wonderful tunes as "Relate, Gear One, I'm Blessed and Am In The Mood"

Known for his delectable voice, Chibuzor Richard Oji a.k.a Faze has proven he can "make it all alone" over the years since the break up which really hurt the soft-spoken and talented vocalist from Delta State of Nigeria.

Brief Biography

Chibuzor Richard Oji aka FAZE was a member of Plantashun Boiz, a Nigerian hip-hop group, with the other members as Blackface and Tuface Idibia but in 2004 the group parted ways and he went solo in his career.

Arguably one of Africa's finest vocalist and songwriter, Faze has locked down Western African Hip-hop, R&B, Reggae and blues and with a unique blend which he tags "Universal Flavour"

Born in Lagos, Nigeria on Feb 23rd into the family of the Oji's, He is a twin and the fourth born in a family blessed with nine children.                                                                                                                              Click on this link to watch his latest video for Am In The Mood on youtube http://youtu.be/QoUFNP0UjBw

2Face covers Y! Magazine's Celebration issue

It certainly brings to mind the iconic (Abraham) Lincoln Memorial at the National Mall in Washington DC! But it’s our very own African superstar, 2face Idibia; regal, confident, and positively sparkling on the cover of Y! Magazine – in what is certain to be another definitive issue.
“Forgive us for being excited!” says Chude Jideonwo, who is editor-in-chief of the magazine. “Our amazing team including photographer Obi Somto and stylist Maryanne Alabi have collaborated to deliver another stunning cover that magnificently conveys the near-legendary status of Innocent “2face” Idibia as well as the confident future that this edition captures so, dare I say, elegantly.”
In the interview, held on the last day of his 35th year, 2face speaks about the past 15 years of his music career; why the many risks he has taken have paid off, what he plans for the future; and why he thinks he has made it through the long haul. He also speaks about his new confidence in publicly speaking about his children, his thoughts about the women in his life from Vien Tetsola to Annie Macaulay, and the greatest lessons that life has taught him.
But that’s only the beginning! This edition of Y! Magazine features profiles of some intriguing young Nigerians. Wazobia FM’s Matse Uwatse speaks exclusively to Y! about her move from Wazobia to Nigeria 99.3; CP-Africa’s Nmachi Jidenma speaks about her job at Google Africa, and three bright stars from Northern Nigeria share their stories: entrepreneur Hassan Rilwan, political Bilyaminu Shinkafi, and mother-of-three photographer Aisha Augie-Kuta, who was this year’s The Future Awards Creative Artist of the Year.
Y!’s vision is to provoke thought and conversation beyond music, movies and fashion dialogue, and this edition continues in that tradition with features like Boko Haram & I, where CNN correspondent Alkassim Abdulkadir speaks about his experience meeting the dreaded leader of the sect; Where is the money?, where Aziza Uko shares the ‘secret’ on why many young people find it difficult to get sponsorship monies for their ideas, How to make chocolate, telling the amazing story of entertainment company Chocolate City, And the winner is…? Where we speak to the split-persona winner of the NLNG Prize for Literature Mai Nasara, and Generation Now, an editorial by Stanley Azuakola on why exactly Nigerians have a reason to celebrate.
A delightful fashion spread includes exclusive interviews with Canada-based Nigerian designer Dumebi Iyamah and UK-based model Eunice Olumide, along with designs from the Africa space at the New York Fashion Week.
There’s even more! Funke Akindele reveals her greatest fear, Chidynma is spotlighted as Bright Young Thing and Praiz as The Next Big Thing, Nse Ikpe-Etim reveals her deepest feelings and regrets, and the duo of Kingley James and XTRM Music’s Steve Babaeko speak about Faith and Travel.
The #Hashtag section goes around 90 days of contemporary culture in Nigeria – with reviews of music, movies, places, television, blasts from the past, books, magazines, and more.
Tying it all up nicely is a colourful spread that gets us in the right mood for Christmas. 20 young celebrities tell Y! Magazine exactly what they want for Christmas – including Dolapo Oni, Omawumi Megbele, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, Linda Ikeji talking up everything from fab shoes to fast cars!
“The idea of this edition is simple,” said Jideonwo. “We went around the country looking for young Nigerians to celebrate and who give us hope in the country as we count down to the festive end-of-the-year months. These are young Nigerians from various sectors and of all stripes who give you a reason to be excited to be Nigerian. 2face is the headliner for that celebration – and what an exciting ride!”
Y! Magazine is available in Lagos and Abuja and will be available in several states and cities across the country. 2face will also be signing copies of the magazines for fans and readers at a media & VIP event at The Hub in The Palms, Lekki, Lagos. For more information, visit www.ynaija.com.

Brad Pitt's 'World War Z' raided by SWAT team in Budapest, 85 fully-functional weapons seized

Brad Pitt's zombie flick "World War Z" got quite a scare. A SWAT team raided a Budapest warehouse full of weapons being used in the movie and seized 85 fully functional automatic, military-style assault rifles, Hungary's Anti-Terrorism Unit confirmed to Us Weekly.
The concern over the weapons is because is that accompanying paperwork claims they don't work, yet they do.

"The movie company's employees must have made a mistake bringing the guns in without the Anti-Terrorism Unit's permission," a source tells the magazine.

But the mix-up has Pitt, whose company Plan B is producing "World War Z," fuming.
"The film is already over budget and over schedule," adds the source. "Brad is furious."

The movie has had its up and downs since it began filming two months ago in Glasgow, Scotland.

On Aug. 29, Pitt saved a female extra from getting trampled during the filming of a battle scene.

"Lots of people hurt themselves and Brad came to the rescue of a woman who slipped," an insider told the Scottish Sun. "I don't think she could believe it when Brad picked her up."

Many others, who were all dressed as zombies, suffered "bumps and scrapes" and that taping had to be halted to have a "safety talk," reported the paper.
Pitt's movie is based on the Max Brooks' 2006 novel "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War." In it, he plays a UN worker for the Post-war Commission who collects stories from those who survived a zombie attack.

The movie "World War Z" will hit theaters in 2012.

MISS WORLD HISTORY

The Miss World History

The year was 1951. The competition was the first Miss World pageant, introduced as part of the Festival of Britain celebrations, and it was the audience it attracted who guaranteed its success.

Thanks to founder Eric Morley’s PR expertise, the first Miss World pageant welcomed a global audience greater than international events like the World Cup and the Olympic Games. The BBC televised Miss World from 1959 to 1979 and Thames Television picked up the contract from 1980 to 1988. At its peak, the show claimed an audience of 27.5 million in Britain alone a figure comparable to that of a royal wedding Fifty years on from the first pageant, Miss World still pulls in the crowds and can boast an annual audience of over a billion.

The press went to town - the world’s most beautiful women, 26 in all, gathered together in one place and happy to smile at the battery of photographers.
The 1950s

The first Miss World, Sweden's Kiki Haakonson, was the first and last winner to be actually crowned in a two-piece swimsuit.
During the first decade of the pageant’s success, the outfits of contestants continued to raise eyebrows and grab headlines. In 1959, Loretta Powell of the United States arrived at the House of Commons in London clad in a Stetson, ruffled shirt and cowboy trousers. She may have got away with wearing what at the time was considered a tad outrageous, but she didn’t get away with her ‘guns’. The two stern-faced coppers in charge demanded she hand over her ‘firearms’ - even copies are not allowed in the British Parliament.
1951     1952     1953     1954     1955     1956     1957     1958     1959

The 1960s

In 1966, India enjoyed its first success and Reita Feria proved to be a popular winner. As articulate and charming as she was beautiful, she went on to qualify as a doctor, highly respected for her brains and expertise rather than her looks. The decade finished with Sweden's Eva Ruber Staier winning the title. Later making her name in movies, Eva had a sweet tooth and when asked how she would spend her prize money, told the waiting press that: 'I'll buy lots of chocolate.'
1960     1961     1962     1963     1964     1965     1966     1967     1968     1969

The 1970s

The first Miss World contest of the decade, hosted by the legendary Bob Hope, was marred by feminist protesters. The quick-witted comedian simply shook his head in wonderment and remarked, "Anyone who would try and break up an affair as wonderful as this has got to be some kind of dope."
In that 1970 Miss World, two black women - Jennifer Hosten of Grenada and Pearl Jansen of Africa South - claimed first and second place, something that had never happened before at a major international pageant.

Despite feminist protests, Miss World was achieving monumental television audiences throughout the 1960s and 1970s. In the UK, Miss World 1970 was the single most-watched show of the entire year.

Wilnelia Merced (Miss Puerto Rico) won the 1975 competition. Wilnelia enjoyed a successful reign. She went on to marry one of Britain's best loved entertainers Sir Bruce Forsyth.

By 1979 the show was topping 500 million viewers world-wide. Gina Swainson won the day, as the little island of Bermuda celebrated her victory by declaring a national holiday.

The 1980s

In 1980, major changes in the Miss World judging process were implemented. For the first time personality and intelligence came into the evaluation and, of equal importance was that vital statistics were no longer deemed vital.

In 1983, the last UK winner of Miss World, Sarah-Jane Hutt, from Poole in Dorset, took the title at The Royal Albert Hall. Three years later, Halle Berry, then Miss USA, stunned the judges and audiences when she wore a bikini featuring stars and ropes of beads during a parade of national costumes. At the time she was quoted as saying that she wanted "to catch the eye from the start." Halle failed to win the contest, but as an Oscar-winning Hollywood star with a string of smash hits under her belt, she almost certainly has recovered from the disappointment. The decade finished with the first-ever Polish winner Aneta Kreglicka.

The 1990s

The one and only time that Miss World was held in the United States was in 1991 and it was there, in Atlanta, Georgia, that Ninibeth Leal won her crown, before becoming one of Venezuela's most successful models.

The years 1992 to 1995 marked a particularly successful period for the Miss World contest as the finals moved to Sun City, South Africa and viewer figures increased from 1.2 billion to 1.8 billion. The contestants were welcomed by none other than President Nelson Mandela and over one million people turned out to see them in Johannesburg.

In 1994 Aishwarya Rai became the second Indian winner after a 28 year gap, her win marking the start of a golden age for Indian contestants who took the crown in four out of the next seven years while Aishwarya went on to become Bollywood's biggest female star.

The show's first visit to the Indian continent came in 1996 when over 40,000 people turned out to watch the show at Bangalore's cricket stadium. Irene Skliva won the title of the first-ever Greek Miss World.

In 1999, the show came to London's Olympia. A few protesters turned up to throw flour bombs, but it merely prompted the late Eric Morley to quip, "It's just like the good old days. Who would have thought it would go on for half a century?" Who indeed?

The start of a new century

Miss World reached its half-century in the year 2000 and the contest returned to London, to the Millennium Dome, for the 50th anniversary show. A massive television audience of 2.3 billion witnessed India retain the Miss World crown and in the UK alone more than 8 million people tuned in during the two-hour broadcast on Channel 5.

Miss World 2001, Agbani Darego was the first black African winner and the following year Miss World was staged in her homeland, in Abuja, Nigeria.

The 2007 contest took place in the Crown of Beauty Theatre, Sanya, in the People's Republic of China. The 106 contestants recorded the official torch relay anthem Light the Passion, Share the Dream for the 2008 Olympics Games as a major cooperation between the Beijing Olympic Committee and Miss World Ltd. The song had its first broadcast to a global audience at the 57th Miss World final on December 1 2007, when model Zhang Zilin became Miss World. Zhang was born in 1984, more than thirty years after the start of the Miss World pageant.

With Julia Morley as Chairman, Miss world continues to break records. With franchises in over 120 countries and fundraising topping £150 million, who knows what the rest of this century will bring for Britain's most successful ever international television show.

The Miss World finals would be broadcast Live on Silverbird Television on the 6th of November 2011. Nigeria's Representative MBGN World 2011 Sylvia Nduka is set to impress the judges and bring home the crown. We would keep you updated on the time of broadcast. Let's continue to cheer Sylvia Nduka on.
