VIDEO PREMIERE: D'BANJ - EMERGENCY


One of D’banj’s hottest tracks of the past year, Emergency, now has a video.  This sees D’banj channel in his inner Fela and do his thing on a stage set with complete with the dancers and all. The retro-themed visual was directed by Unlimited L.A and was shot on location @ Hard Rock Cafe, Lagos with cameo appearances from Eldee, Olu Maintain, Vector and Samklef. We know Slot and Ciroc will definitely be smiling.

SPECIAL FEATURE: K9 PART WAYS WITH TRYBES RECORDS




Over the past couple of weeks, rumours have surfaced around the entertainment industry that singer/producer "K9" has parted ways with his record label Trybe Records owned by eLDee the don.

In a recent interview with HipTv, the Kokoma master, as his fans call him, cleared the air on this issue and also gave an insight into what his plans for the rest of the year are.

According to him, "At some point, all businesses have to part ways. I'm still cool with Eldee... I still hope to work with him in future but for now I'm doing things on my own... We are in the process of finalizing arrangements for me to leave".

The multi-talented singer/songwriter/producer and dancer who recently released a new song "Celebration" with long-time friend and top producer "BeatsBySarz", also dropped the name of his own entertainment outfit "Young Lion Entertainment".

K9 revealed that his new single "Lord Have Mercy", produced by himself, features industry colleague Olamide and drops in a few weeks, and that his fans should expect more B.A.N.G.E.Rs, more collaborations and videos this year.

MUSIC PREMIERE: POUND CAKE FREESTYLE - RUKUS


Trybe Records’ artist Rukus returns only 2 weeks removed from releasing one of the most controversial tracks in Nigerian hip-hop history.  
Rukus releases a freestyle over the ethereal ambience of “Pound Cake” and the talented lyricist takes on a more reflective tone while addressing issues and how much things have changed since his previous track went viral.


Rukus is currently working on a mixtape and plans to release videos in the coming months for his moving single “Tonight” as well as his party starter, “Spending My Ego” which features Trybe Records label boss and hip-hop legend, eLDee.

SPECIAL FEATURE: FROSH MUSIC FESTIVAL featuring eLDee & Rukus


This September, on Friday the 13th, the University of Manitoba Students’ Union will host the largest student-run music festival in the country.
“Frosh” events represent the crazy fun parties and activities that go on during the first few weeks of any University/College. This year, UMSU wants to bring this campus spirit to the University of Manitoba by providing the students with something they have never experienced before. Frosh Music Fest is a full day festival and concert series that will include a variety of different world renowned artists from different music genres including Hip-Hop, Pop, Country, and Electronic Dance Music, along with a host of different games and activities.

D-SOUL - KILODE ft eLDEE

D-Soul has tailored his style of music to cut across all platforms and genres. Since recognizing his talent at the age of three, he was commissioned to do his first performance at the age of seven on national television in Nigeria. That performance captured the eyes of many and gave him recognition in his hometown. He was born raised in Nigeria but moved to the UK at his teenage age to further his studies along side his music.
