Magazine rep confirms that the image circulating on the Internet is actual cover
Lady Gaga is set to be the cover girl for the March issue of Vogue, and her cover photo has leaked online.
Gaga sports a hot-pink wig in the photo, her haircut reminiscent of the cropped cut she wore in her "Alejandro" video. She's draped in a white Grecian-style gown, with her hands at her waist. The headline fittingly reads "Born This Way," as shown on Styleite.com.
According to Gaga Daily, the photos for the issue were shot in November at the Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium, by legendary fashion photographer Mario Testino.
A rep for Vogue confirmed to MTV News that the leaked image is authentic and that an official version should be released next week.
Gaga's bestie Perez Hilton wrote, "Have you seen the AMAZING photo of my wifey on the new issue of American Vogue??? Epic!" later adding, "I especially LOVE the body language of the #Vogue cover. It pays homage to the iconic Gaga poses of back in 2008! ..."
Perez also reported that Gaga is set to appear on the "Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on February 14. The Valentine's Day appearance comes one day after the Grammys, where she is set to debut her Born This Way single of the same name.
Earlier this week, Gaga took to Twitter to share with her fans her anticipation for finally debuting the track. "So many nights I've wept, too many thoughts to say. But now it's less than 12 days left, till I was Born This Way. X Mother Monster," she tweeted on Tuesday.
While little is known about what the title song will sound like, Perez did share with MTV News that it will be epic. "Fans can expect all the hype to be true with 'Born This Way' and with the album," he said. "And you know what? It is a very gay song — unapologetically, gay-in-your-face gay — but it's also a universal song that can relate to everyone," Hilton explained. "To all of us outsiders, to all of us freaks, to all of us who feel different. And the music is undeniable. It sounds like a smash. It is a smash. It is one of the best songs of Gaga's career."
