Artiste Managers Association in Nigeria (A.M.A.N) veterans paid a courtesy visit to Copyright Society of Nigeria (C.O.S.O.N) on Tuesday 23rd April to further reach out to all the facets of entertainment industry in Nigeria with the aim of ensuring a structural stability of the industry. The highly powered team led by Mr Collins Ifeanyi Onwuneme Ajereh Enebeli were received by COSON Chairman Chief Tony Okoroji another veteran of the music industry who warmly exchanged pleasantries with a team of fellow veterans fondly known to him from back in the formative days of what is the present day mammoth music industry in Nigeria.
After a lot of deliberations on how to foster a conducive environment to ensure that artiste managers in Nigeria get their due recognition in the industry and offer their own quota to the development of the entertainment industry in Nigeria, Chief Okoroji presented a copy of his book titled "COPYRIGHT NEIGHBOURING RIGHTS AND THE NEW MILLIONAIRE" to the President of AMAN and pledged a solidarity stand towards achieving the intent behind the formation of AMAN years back.
The delegation included Mr Eddie Jay Omodiagbe, Mr Sonny Neme, Apostle Dr. Chukwuemeka George, Mr Ebhoghomo Ehiguese-Hyde a.k.a Daddy Hyde, Mr Jackson Babatunde and my humble self Toscar Roberts.
The President of AMAN Mr Collins further emphasized the need for COSON to advise
intellectual property owners (artistes) to carry managers along in their dealings as they are more professional in the management
of artiste careers and are better equipped to handle businesses on their behalf.
He also made a clarion call to artiste managers
who are yet to associate with AMAN to come together and join hands in the propagation
of the evolving entertainment industry especially with the spate of
professionalism taking place today in the industry.
