EZINWANNE ASSOCIATION OF DROGHEDA, IRELAND CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY IN STYLE (PICTURES)


It was celebration galore over the weekend in Crown Ventures Events Hall, Duleek Business Park in Republic of Ireland as Ezinwanne Association of Drogheda County Louth rolled out the red carpet to play host to an array of dignitaries from within and outside Ireland. 

The event was the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the association which is an Igbo Socio-cultural organization and the local chapter of the Igbo Union Ireland. The well attended and fun filled event was put together by an organizing committee headed by Mavin Grandpa who with his team ensured that the event will leave lasting memories for those who graced the ceremony.


Prior to the anniversary, a Quiz Nite of fun was organized in West Court Hotel Drogheda to raise funds in support of Drogheda Homeless Aid as part of the association's charity effort . 
The anniversary featured lots of entertainment from Ezinwanne children, mothers, Dublin artiste Big Jay, Dj Redwood, Igbo masquerade, traditional dancers, paper presentation from Mr. George Enyoazu President of Igbo Council of Europe and founder of first Igbo socio-cultural association in Ireland and also a raffle draw for which many valuable prizes were won. 
In his welcome address, the president of the association Mr. Ignatius Chukwurah thanked all the invitees who honoured their invitation particularly the various chapters of Igbo Union from all over Ireland that came to celebrate with Ezinwanne Association. He called for love among members and also requested all Ibo citizens residing in Drogheda area of Ireland to join the association to build bridges of friendship and better mutual understanding among themselves. 

Amongst the dignitaries present were the outgoing Mayor of Drogheda Mr. Paul Bell, Deputy Ambassador of the Nigerian Embassy Dublin Mr. George Alabi, the founding President of Ezinwanne Chief Glen Adimora, Rev, Fr. David Crean of the Augustinian Community Catholic Church Drogheda, Pastor Nick Park of Solid Rock Church Drogheda, Mr Pat McDaid of Drogheda Partnership, representatives of various Igbo associations and groups from all over Ireland etc. 
There was a food fair and so much to eat and drink while Nigerian music ruled the carnival like atmosphere to the delight of all.
