Nigerian teenager shots 4 In US Walmart Store

An 18-year-old Nigerian-American teenager, Solomon Onwukaife, is being held by the police in Austin, Texas USA for shooting five people in an earlier dispute over a girl at Walmart Store.Onwukaife and those shot agreed to meet at the Walmart store for a fight after the dispute at a different location. “This stemmed from a party that occurred possibly somewhere either in Williamson County or Leander, in which there was alcohol consumed at that party,” Henry Fluck, Cedar Park Police Chief said in a press statement.

 

According to the police, fight broke out in the Walmart parking lot and Onwukaife began shooting, hitting five people. The incident took place at a time when there were a few customers in the Walmart store parking lot. They said no Walmart employee or customer was injured. The store closed briefly as police sealed-off the area conducting investigations and re-opened at 9 a.m.

 “This morning at 4:30a.m. I heard a 'pop pop pop like firecrackers. All of a sudden I saw police and ambulance," an unidentified woman told reporters.
19-year-old Shayne Davis, 22-year-old Leland McGlocklin, 19-year-old Zacharia Gietl, 18-year-old Cody McGrath and an unidentified victim were wounded and taken to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center. Davis, McGlocklin and McGrath remain in critical condition. Gietl, was treated and released the same day (Sunday).
Onwukaife who suffered facial injuries was treated and handed back to police. He has been charged in court with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the incident. Gietl told police the dispute began when a man choked a woman at a nearby party earlier in the evening (Saturday) and several people agreed to fight at the Walmart parking lot. He said he was not at the party but went to the parking lot to stop his friends from continuing the fight.
Cedar Park Police Chief Henry Fluck he believed alcohol had played a role. Meanwhile, no Walmart employees or customers were hurt.
Monday afternoon, Cedar Park police released the names of the others involved in the incident. They are:

• Leland McGlocklin, 22, of Lake Travis
• Cody McGrath, 18, of Cedar Park
• Zacharia Gietl, 19, of Cedar Park and Davis
• Shayne Davis, 19, Leander

CPPD said three of them remain in the hospital, though they did not specify which of the four.
The investigation is ongoing and police said more charges may be filed.

Charges against them goes like this:
Solomon Onwukaifem accused of opening fire on four people outside of a Cedar Park Walmart, had been beaten with a pipe and brass knuckles during the fight, according to arrest warrant affidavits released Thursday by Williamson County authorities.
According to the documents, 18-year-old Onwukaife suffered injuries to his head and back and lost teeth during the beating. Police say Onwukaife was among six people who went to a parking lot around 4:30 a.m. Aug. 19 after arguing at a party.
The arrest affidavits came after police interviewed the people involved. Here is the breakdown of the charges and events:

• Anthony Vaughan, 19, charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, a third-degree felony. He is accused of throwing the brass knuckles toward a nearby pond. His bond is $10,000.
• Joseph Howell, 22, for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, a third-degree felony. He is accused of hiding the pipe in some bushes. His bond is $100,000.
• Ashton Warth, 19, charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon, misdemeanor A. Her bond is $10,000.
• Austin Morita, 17, for having a prohibited weapon, misdemeanor A, with a bond set at $25,000; also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, with a bond set at $50,000
• Leland McGlocklin, 23, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. Bond was set at $50,000

McGlocklin, along with Cody McGrath, 18, of Cedar Park ; Zacharia Gietl, 19, of Cedar Park; and Shayne Davis, 19, Leander, were wounded by gunfire during the incident. None suffered life-threatening injuries.
The shooting suspect is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
