Award winning group X Project lead singer Akinwunmi Akinwoye a.k.a "Captain Boogie Down" (formerly known as
Majeed) is a Nigerian born Singer,
Songwriter & Music Producer. He rose to stardom as the leader of the
multi-award winning group X Project formed in 2000 alongside Aziz Kamara (Slez) and Salieu Sindi (Saal) both
who are Sierra Leoneans.
In 2005 their debut album, “Dance 4 Me”
was released with smashing hits songs like “Ayemi” and “Tumba Dance. The group
made an outstanding impact on major radio stations and TVs in Nigerian and
Sierra Leonean with various awards to their credit.
In 2008 the group released another album
titled “Sierra-Naija” with the monster smash hit song “LORI LE” featuring Konga.
The versatile and accomplished Majeed achieved success with X Project with
multiple awards like:
Nigeria Music Award (Song of the Year)
2008
Kora Music Award Nomination (Best
Contemporary Song of the year) 2008/2009 to mention a few.
In 2011 Majeed parted ways with X
Project to begin a solo career. The talented artist who is staging a major
comeback is currently in studio working on his debut album. Title is said to be
disclosed soon.
