After dominating last year with headline breaking feats and releasing her critically acclaimed début Seyi or Shay, raving songstress Seyi Shay releases visuals to her latest single “Mary” featuring Phyno, her first video since the release of her album last year.

Seyi Shay teams up with Phyno to create history in her new video Mary directed by Meji Alabi for JM Films. The video shot in Lagos is coupled with amazing props and captivating scenes with a brilliant use of lights and effects. The song has an Afro Trap tune originating from the South Side in America aka ‘The Dirty South’ it sees Seyi Shay serenade listeners with her amazing vocals, Mary was the very last song to be recorded for the album and it almost did not make the cut. Phyno delivers playful lyrics which suit the occasion perfectly and adds more colour to the anticipated club banger. Both artists looked dapper and stole the show especially at closing scenes of the video.

Seyi Shay once commented; “the song Mary was inspired by a friend of mine who always attracted major attention from everybody whenever they would enter a party or dance floor because of her bold personality and funky outfits”. Mary was produced by Otee Beats and was co written by Phame and Jade.

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) in their quest to sanitize the lyrical content of songs being released and played on air are really taking their campaign to a tough level according to popular On Air Presenter Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi better known as Gbemi O of BEAT 99.9 FM. She made this known via her social network handle on twitter this afternoon as she tweeted: 

Artistes pls censor your songs . Take the time to make a radio edit if you want it played on radio. NBC is breathing down our necks
