Today, everyone’s favorite person without eyebrows—Whoopi Goldberg—admitted on “The View” that she cheated on her husband several times while they were together. She let the secret fly as her co-hosts discussed, who else, Jesse James. While the rest of “The View” citizen conversationalists deemed James’ action inexcusable, Whoopi defended him. “Maybe he was looking for something different,” she said. “Hey, listen, I did it five or six times. Yes, I screwed around. Yes, while I was married. I made those mistakes, too, yeah. It happens sometimes.
I never would’ve suspected Whoopi as a woman to set off the affair alarm. But she is in good company. After the jump, see what famous females took femme fatale too far and ended up killing their relationships because of their infidelities.
Meg Ryan took her role a little too seriously when she ended up sleeping with her “Proof Of Life” co-star, Russell Crowe. The extra-curricular activity ended her marriage to Dennis Quaid. Years later, Ryan confessed that one of the things that drove her to cheat was Quaid’s numerous affairs throughout their marriage. Now we all know that two wrongs make a divorce
Madonna and Alex Rodriguez‘s relationship caused a double dose of divorce. While the short-lived couple was getting cozy, both were also cutting off their marriages. Madonna officially ended it with husband Guy Ritchie, though sources say the two were through long before. Meanwhile, A-rod called it quits with his wife, Cynthia. Madonna and Rodriguez claim that any cheating before their divorces was solely emotional, but everyone seems to have their doubts. You can only pull the “Like a Virgin” card so many times, Madonna.
LeAnn Rimes followed Meg Ryan’s lead and got romantically involved with her co-star from the made-for-TV-movie “Northern Lights,” Eddie Cibrian. Usually, this would be a cute story to tell others about how you met, but when both of you are already married that story turns into a scandal. Rimes soon broke it off with her husband, Dean Sheremet, so she could continue a more legitimate relationship with Cibrian. Sounds like a story that has potential to be a made-for-TV-movie itself one day. I am looking at you, Lifetime or Hallmark.
Jessica Simpson went from newlywed to divorcee pretty quickly. One of the rumored reasons for the split from Nick Lachey is that Simpson was getting another singer on the side. The blond bombshell was supposedly having secret sessions with Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine. Sadly, her crack-like sex didn’t hook Levine, and Simpson later went on to make the poor life choice that is John Mayer.
First, Anne Heche had her lesbian moment in the sun with Ellen DeGeneres before ditching her for cameraman Coleman Laffoon. Ah, but it doesn’t end there. Heche said she thought Laffoon to be a “lazy a**” and soon found a more active man in “Men in Trees” co-star James Tupper. Heche and Tupper are now settled down and have had their first child. But if I were Tupper, I would keep my eyes on her.
Gabrielle Union was named one of Vibe magazine’s top cheaters. Apparently, the actress has the reputation of a roaming eye, not only cheating in her relationships but also taking an interest in off-the-market-men as well. I feel sorry for those scorned women—because of her great looks, Union must be hard to fight off.
Tori Spelling has been trying to force us into acknowledging that she is famous for years. She finally got our attention when she had an affair with Dean McDermott, while she was still married to Charlie Shanian. The affair ended both Spelling and McDermott’s previous marriages, and the two ended up marrying soon after. Spelling says she has no regrets about what happened and would do it over again. Which means that the show “Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood” is inevitable and I can stop working on my time machine.
Ingrid Bergman is the famous face behind a scandal that would still shock today. The actress carried on a well-publicized affair with director Roberto Rossellini while she was married to Dr. Aron Petter Lindström. The publicity surrounding the relationship became a frenzy when it was discovered that Bergman was pregnant with Rossellini’s baby. The news spread throughout the world, and could possibly be the root of baby-mama drama.
Elizabeth Taylor showed leading ladies how romance was done! Taylor has had quite the string of husbands, so it shouldn’t be surprising to know that there was some infidelity in there somewhere. In 1963, the diamond diva finally landed her fourth husband, singer Eddie Fisher, after having a very public affair with him. But she soon divorced Fisher to make her relationship with “Cleopatra” co-star Richard Burton official. And so goes one of many conquests for the famous actress and adulteress.
