The legal team for R&B superstar Chris Brown is looking forward to their day in court after their client was named in a $16 million lawsuit for his role in the infamous bottle-throwing scuffle at an NYC nightclub W.i.P. in June.
According to TMZ, a rep for the singer spoke to Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos,
who says the complaint is “frivolous.” Brown and rival Drake are
accused of allegedly instigating the incident that left several people
injured. The suit, which was filed by Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., a
financial partner in the W.i.P. nightclub, alleges the two stars "shared
a grudge against the other arising out of their romantic relationships
with the same woman," who reportedly is Rihanna.
"Each arrived with his own small army of bodyguards, 'security'
personnel, employees, friends and other members of their entourage
consisting of at least 15 heavily built men trained and/or experienced
in hand-to-hand and weapons combat," stated the court filing, according
to the New York Post.
While Brown’s lawyers seem unfazed by the suit, Drake’s legal team has yet to comment.
