BREAKING NEWS: BBM for Android gets a sign-up page

Blackberry originally promised us that their Android and iOS messaging apps — affectionately known as Blackberry Messenger or BBM — would be coming to us by the end of summer. By our Gregorian calendar, summer ends September 21st, and we’re quickly approaching that date. With that, it’s natural that we start seeing and hearing more and more about the arrival of the premium chat service.

We still don’t have a solid date to look forward to, though from what you guys have told us in the past, not many people are exactly “looking forward” to anything. Blackberry Messenger seems a bit unnecessary in this day and age, with folks already comfortable with existent platform-agnostic messaging services, or the default services of their respective operating systems (iMessage for iOS, Hangouts for Android, etc)

That’s not to say Blackberry Messenger won’t have its uses for many people, but it’s just not as big of a deal as it would have been, say, 5 years ago. If you really are hyped for the service, though, be sure to head to the BBM landing site and put your email address into the hat.

MUSIC PREMIERE: PRESIDENT - WHITE NIGERIAN FT ECO

The newly signed Kudi Boy Music artist, White Nigerian has done it again!  As a follow up from his previous hit songs Dirty Wine ft Tekno and Barawo, he drops this new single called President. This time this party track is produced by GospelonDBeatz! Do I need to say anymore?  ECO, the Sprite Triple Slam Winner, who was featured in the song, showed that he is multi-talented by singing the first part of the catchy chorus as well as raping in the second verse.

White Nigerian who is currently serving his country through the NYSC scheme is President of his Skills Acquisition Community Development Service (CDS) and I think thats what persuaded him to do this song called President which means Shugaban Kasa in Hausa. He made history as the first full "White" to ever serve in NYSC.

Known for his rapping in pidgin English and hausa, this song is a great follow up to his previous hit songs which are making waves in clubs and radio stations nationwide and abroad!

Get your party shoes on before you listen to this track because it will definitely get you dancing!!

MUSIC: BLOWIN' - LV SHARP

Born April 5th, 1990 in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona, Laura Varker was born. The daughter of a Midwestern, hardworking couple in a tightknit community allowed Laura to explore a variety of genres of music. She quickly related to Alanis Morissette, Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey. “Beyonce has always been my number one idol. She’s the Queen of Music to me and I not only admire her true talent as a singer, songwriter and dancer, but the immense sacrifices she’s made for everyone who looks up to her and enjoys her music.” Laura studied piano, received vocal training (private and classical) and impressively recorded her first single at the young age of 14.
“I myself, love really hard. That’s something that we, as artists, give up for a long time to give our fans what they want.”

From a young age, LV understood expression. She grew up very close to the kids of her neighborhood and as a result, has a very downtoearth, grounded head on her shoulders. “I like to take a step back and look at what I can do differently to improve, as well as get outside opinions.” Clearly, LV understands that her music is not only an expression of herself, but a highquality product that is AList worthy. She upholds her end of the business by constantly looking for ways to progress and challenge herself as an artist in order to produce a better product for her fans.
“I think just like anyone in any business, I grow as an individual and my work progresses. Success is a ladder you climb… I’ve only moved upward.”
As far as becoming and evolving into an artist, it hasn’t been the easiest road for LV. LV’s parents preferred her to have a career outside of the entertainment industry. Although she was determined to please her parents, LV couldn’t let go of music. In short singing became everything, servicing as the one true outlet of expression she understood best.
“Music was the only thing that kept me going when I felt like the entire world was against me.”

Now a singer, trend setter, role model and inspiration to aspiring young women all around the world, LV Sharp continues to pursue her dream. Day by day, in and out of the studio, LV admits that it’s her favorite place to be.
“I enjoy recording the most because you never know exactly how each song will come out. You have a plan, but the details are improvised. I always have an idea… but I can be impulsive and go the comlpete opposite direction in 2.5 seconds.”

Inspiring, impulsive, and a true supporter of dreams, LV Sharp is simply nothing short of remarkable. The stunning 22year old, Northern Phoenix artist manages to keep herself grounded while focusing her attention on her music.
“I remind myself that the reward at the end of the road will be a great one.”
With this girl, we don’t doubt it.

ABOUT THE AFRICAN OSCARS-NAFCA
The Nollywood & African Film Critics’ Awards, now officially known as The African Oscars, are a set of awards given annually for excellence of cinematic achievements. The African Oscars statuette is officially named the NAFCA and is one of 3 types of Awards. Organized and overseen by the Nollywood Film Critics USA. The other awards include, NAFCA Special Honors, Nollywood & African People’s Choice Awards.
The awards are given each year at a formal ceremony. The NAFCA was originally conceived by Dr. Victor O. Olatoye, the CEO of Nollywood Film Critics USA, as a professional film review organization to help improve the African film industry’s image and help promote African culture and heritage through films. The awards themselves were later initiated in 2011 in Durham North Carolina by Nollywood Film Critics USA as awards "of merit for distinctive achievement" in the African film industry.
These awards which were first given in 2011 at a formal ceremony at the Research Triangle Park Sheraton Imperial in Durham North Carolina were attended by only 400 people and one media. Over the years that the award has been given, the categories presented have changed; currently the African Oscars-NAFCA is given in more than three dozen categories, and includes films of various types. As one of the most prominent award ceremonies in Africa, the African Oscars-NAFCA ceremony is now covered by over 400 media partners globally, thus making it the most covered African film and honorary awards.
The 2nd  African Oscars-NAFCA was held on Sunday, 16 September 2012, at the Carolina Theatre, Durham North Carolina USA. The  3rd edition will be held on Saturday, 14 September 2013, at the legendary Warner Theatre in Washington Dc USA; this will be the largest to date for the African Oscars –NAFCA and for the African cinema. Hollywood, Nollywood, Diplomats and Dignitaries will be in attendance.

The Special NAFCA Honors: These prestigious awards were established in 2011 by the Nollywood & African Film Critics’ Awards to grace the lives and achievements of African luminaries and leaders. These honorary awards are awarded to recognize contributions over the whole of a career, rather than or in addition to single contributions of an individual. The Special NAFCA Honors also recognize outstanding humanitarians whose lives have been marked by extraordinary personal and professional accomplishments.
