The press conference for Am Black And Beautiful Model Contest which held yesterday at Mozida Lounge, Ikeja and had in attendance members of the press who came out to witness the official statement by organizers of the contest.
The president/founder of ABAB Inc. Mr Tessy Bello was all smiles as he thanked all who attended and made a few points about the contest. He said the contest was inspired by his vision of exposing the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria through a fusion of Modelling, Fashion, Music and Arts.
Camping for the 20 modelling contestants who passed the audition for the contest held in Lagos, Enugu, Awka, Calabar, Port Harcourt, Benin, Owerri and in the Republic of Benin would start 18th September 2013 in Lagos while the grand finale would be on 22nd September 2013. While in camp, the contestants would be tutored on various itinerary which include, Modelling Ethics, Talent Training, Capacity Training and Branding and Marketing.
Winner goes home with N500, 000 and a 42inch LED T.V, while the first runner up gets a refrigerator and N200, 000 and the second runner up gets a Home Theater and N100, 000. Also there would be consolation prizes for the top 5 in the contest while all contestants would smile home with different packages.

This is an event that intensifies and awakens the
essence and pride in every African, a clarion call to liberation, expression,
confidence, assurance and self-esteem…a mirror that reveals the true worth and
quality of Africanhood, a mirror that declares every African man and woman…beautiful
and every potential unique, embraced with passionate and self-driven people of
our great country Nigeria.
This platform is set out to give leverage to
potential upcoming acts in expressing their talents and to gain recognition in
their various chosen field of Modelling, Fashion, Art and Music.

and celebrate the growth and diversity of contemporary African culture and
heritage through creative performances and innovations created and inspired within
Africa and with the commitment to uplift and revitalize Nigerian Entertainment,
Art, Fashion and Modelling Industry.
The event will showcase the beauty and talents of 30
aspiring young female models, 20 aspiring fashion designers, 10 musical
artistes and Art.
Am Black And Beautiful Model Contest/Fashion, Art,
Music Show is designed to showcase the enormous talent in the Nigerian
modelling, Fashion, Art and Music Industry.

a cultural awareness of creativity and inspiration for Fashion designers,
Performing Artistes, Artists and Models.

opportunities for the industry members both Pro and Upcoming to create networks
that will facilitate action and inspire industry growth.

4. Increasing
local and international awareness for African Models, Fashion, Art and Music
brands and talent, we hope to inspire increased demands and brand loyalty.

hope to assist in creating a positive knock on effect that will facilitate job
creation, growth and security for the industry by extension that of its patrons
and sponsors.
6. To
transfer business knowledge on the modelling, fashion, art and music industry
to the general public.
7. Create
platforms for international exposure for young Nigerians interested in making a
living in the modelling, fashion, art and music industry.
