NGO set to empower school girls with free sanitary pads/ hygiene products to celebrate Menstrual Hygiene Day 2018.
The MHD is a day set aside globally to educate young girls and ladies in particular and the general public about Menstrual Hygiene as well as break the stigma and clarify myths and misconceptions around Menstruation.
HEAL FOR AFRICA INITIATIVE will officially launch the PATH project to
commemorate the Menstrual Hygiene Day (MHD2018) on Monday 28th of May 2018
at Al Ansar Secondary School, New Layout, Lokoja, Kogi State. The event will also feature a health talk on Menstrual Hygiene, a practical session on how to make Reusable Sanitary Pads with locally available materials and distribution of free sanitary pads/ personal hygiene products to participants.
To make this day a success, sanitary pads, antiseptic soaps and other personal hygiene products, refreshment for 200 students, photo and video coverage, banners, flyers, media publicity and funds to cover other logistics will be needed.
After this launch, the NGO will proceed to repeat this same exercise in more schools across the 3 senatorial districts in the state and beyond till Africa is covered.
HEAL FOR AFRICA INITIATIVE is an incorporated non governmental, non profit organization committed to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 - 6 via health Literacy and free medical services, women empowerment, education for the girl child,Advocacy for women's rights, showing Affection and ensuring better livelihood across Africa, especially in the slums. The PATH project will address health issues affecting women and girls and also promotes Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.
