GRAMMY NEWS: TAYLOR SWIFT TAKES A GO AT KANYE WEST

Taylor Swift made history by becoming first woman to win Album of the Year back to back as her 1989 took the Album of the year award at the 58th Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Monday night. Having opened the show with a version of her hit Out of the Woods, the singer made a defiant acceptance speech which seemed to allude to her argument with Kanye West earlier in the week. The singer however left no stone unturned as she used the opportunity to address Kanye West “I made that b*tch famous” line in one of the songs in his new album.
In her words, she said; “As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there. There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.”
This threw the Grammy crowd into a frenzy and has remained one of the trending issues online.

Other famous women also had a testing night. Adele struggled through a performance of All I Ask which was bedeviled by technical difficulties in which her microphone cut out and an extra guitar which some suggested was being played by Justin Bieber’s band warming up on the other stage played over her song. The singer also sounded slightly out of tune at times.

Lady Gaga tribute performance to David Bowie

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga’s tribute to David Bowie was a hectic mash-up of his most famous hits done in full glam rock regalia. The musical director was Nile Rodgers, who produced Bowie’s Let’s Dance album, but many thought Gaga had tried too hard, and even Bowie’s son Duncan Jones appeared to offer veiled criticism, tweeting:

Kendrick Lamar won the most awards. The 28-year-old rap artist scooped five prizes: best rap song, best rap performance, best rap/sung collaboration, best music video and best rap album. He galvanized the event with a politically charged performance of The Blacker the Berry and Alright with a stage production that saw him coming on stage in chains, and finished with a map of Africa with the word “Compton” in the middle – his home city.
Lamar had received 11 nominations for this year’s Grammys, beating Eminem’s record as the rapper with the most nominations in a single night, and coming in second only to Michael Jackson for the most nominations ever. Taylor Swift and the Weekend received seven nominations each. In other major categories, Meghan Trainor won best new artist, while Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk won record of the year and best pop duo/group performance.
After kicking off with the performance by a be-catsuited Swift, the biggest night in music was emceed by five-time host LL Cool J, who emphasized the diversity of the medium as a guiding light for a divided America looking to “celebrate the awesome power of music”.
“With all that divides us today, our shared love of music unites us – all of us,” LL Cool J said as he opened the awards show-slash-concert. Highlighting the racial and stylistic diversity of the nominees – a salient fact during an awards season that has come under heavy fire for disproportionately celebrating the accomplishments of white artists – LL Cool J emphasized achievements in rap and hip-hop, as well as a performance by the cast of Broadway smash Hamilton, as a symbol of the industry’s willingness to broadcast minority voices.“These are the people who make this music’s biggest night,” LL Cool J said.
There were a few odd-couple duet and group performances, most notably Sam Hunt and Carrie Underwood and Andra Day and Ellie Goulding, as well as a massive sing-off between John Legend, Demi Lovato, Luke Bryan, Meghan Trainor and Tyrese in tribute to soul singer Lionel Richie, who then joined the group onstage to sing a few bars from All Night Long.
That song’s title was an accurate reflection of the feeling of the telecast, which was studded with a seemingly endless series of decaffeinated performances. The night featured a series of low-key performances by the Weekend, Justin Bieber, Sam Hunt and Carrie Underwood. Little Big Town’s rendition of surprise hit Girl Crush – hyped by Ryan Seacrest as “like you’ve never heard it before” – was a dirge-like funeral march.
Nearly every performance of the night’s first two hours was in the 60 beats-per-minute range. Hunt and Underwood, for example, sat down for most of their number, while James Bay and Tori Kelly slowed down their medley of songs to a dolorous shuffle. Adele chose All I Ask, a slow romantic ballad, over her aggressively poppy Send My Love (To Your New Lover).
There were moments of levity, however. Soul singer Stevie Wonder, who is blind, taunted his fellow presenters who couldn’t read the winner of best song the winner’s name had been printed in Braille – and added: “We need to make every single thing accessible to every person with a disability.” An acappella performance of Earth, Wind & Fire’s That’s The Way of the World was, counter-intuitively, a high-spirited celebration of the life of late band founder Maurice White. As well as Lady Gaga’s trippy, frenetic Bowie medley, there was a similarly frenzied performance by the Hollywood Vampires, a super group featuring Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp, left many in the audience and on social media fairly nonplussed.
A performance of from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s smash Hamilton, broadcast from the Richard Rogers Theater in New York, was a refreshingly up-tempo celebration of the artistic, racial and musical diversity that host LL Cool J had noted at the beginning of the night. Hamilton later won the Grammy for best musical theater album with a rapped acceptance speech by Miranda as well as a tweet quoting The Election of 1800 from Hillary Clinton

KANYE WEST AT IT AGAIN - TLOP

2016 is just not letting up with the shots firing, and beef cooking. It seems Kanye has owned it all in February with a lot of controversy leading up to the release of his album, TLOP. But it continues now that the album is released with his shots fired at Taylor Swift. In the song, Famous, Yeezy is quoted as saying “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, I made that b*tch famous.” Oh boy! You didn’t just go there Kanye and we all thought they had buried that and were cool once again.

Taylor Swift’s brother pretty much summed up his feelings about it, by throwing a pair of Yeezy’s his own in the trash “Getting a head start of spring cleaning”.

In addition to that, according to popular US blogger, Perez Hilton, Swift’s rep, Tree Paine, said that Taylor Swift did not approve of the “mysogynistic message, and also cautioned him about releasing the song. Initially word was that Kanye had giving Swift a heads up. “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single Famous on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that b*tch famous.‘”

FOREIGN SCENE: Kanye West Defends Bringing "Jesus" on Stage

"God knows where my heart is," Yeezy says.

An actor depicting Jesus Christ at the Yeezus tour opening in Seattle last weekend represented one of the "awesome things" about Christianity and wasn't meant to be disrespectful, Kanye West says.

West, 36, cleared up the misconception in an interview with personalities from San Francisco's Wild 94.9 radio station recently, saying he even consulted with a "pastor friend" before staging the moment. "My girl even asked afterwards, 'Is that weird if Jesus comes on stage like that?'" he said, and then answered, "No, we do plays all the time where people play Jesus."

The right to play Jesus separates Christianity from other religions, West added. "You know, what's awesome about Christianity is that we're allowed to portray God. We're allowed to, you know, draw an image of him, we're allowed to make movies about him. Other religions, you're not really allowed to do that. So that's what's really awesome about Christianity. That's one of the awesome things."

The "Jesus Walks" rapper correlated the live-action ode to Christ with "a moving opera," then scrapped all comparisons stating, "God knows where my heart is at."

Religion and music mixing tends to have controversial results, which Yeezy acknowledged, but his intention wasn't to get a negative rise out of people, he insisted. "One of the things that I wanted to really get across with that message is that you can have a relationship with Jesus," he continued. "That you can talk to Jesus."

NEWS: KANYE WEST TO SETTLE CASE OUT OF COURT

Kanye West won't be charged for attacking a photographer (and his camera) at LAX last week, reports TMZ. Paramedics were called to the airport after West unleashed on the prying cameraman for breaking his strict "never talk" policy.

'Ye was facing a felony burglary charge over the flip-out, but LAPD investigators were unable to find evidence supporting the offense. Still, authorities plan to transfer the alleged robbery report to the Los Angeles D.A.'s office, where it will likely be rejected.

West could be prosecuted under the lesser crime of misdemeanour criminal battery, if he doesn't use his wallet to stop that from happening. Sources say the Chicago native is on board with making a "civil compromise," meaning he'll pay the paparazzo to make the entire thing go away.

Before the attack the "I Am God" MC predicted the fight would cost him. "What you're trying to do is get me in trouble," West told the pap. "So I'll have to pay you like $250,000!"

It's unknown how much money he'll actually have to cough up.

NEWS ALERT: Kim Kardashian's Daughter "Looks Just Like Her"

Less than 48 hours after the birth of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's baby daughter, new details have emerged about the surprisingly early delivery.

Kardashian went into labor nearly five weeks before her due date, and the couple welcomed their baby girl on Saturday afternoon. "She has dark hair," a source tells E News of the newest Kardashian family member. "She looks just like Kim." While there's been no news of the baby's name, the source confirms, "it will start with a K."

The labor began so suddenly that West, whose new album Yeezus is due out on Tuesday, had to skip his album release party to be by his baby mama's side. "Of course, Kanye was there with Kim when she went to the hospital and had the baby," a source told Us Weekly. "She started to feel sick late last night [Friday] and was having contractions."

The Kardashian clan went uncharacteristically dark on Twitter starting Friday evening, but Kim's sis Khloe Kardashian broke her silence on Sunday to update fans and voice her excitement. "I cannot even begin 2describe the miracle that is now a part of our family," the reality star wrote. "Mommy/baby are healthy &resting. We appreciate all of the love." Khloe adds that more details will come "when the time is right."

Meanwhile, new grandma Kris Jenner has wedding bells on the brain. The family matriarch tells The Hollywood Reporter that Kim and Kanye's wedding would be "very different" from the made-for-TV extravaganza she had when the reality star married Kris Humphries. “This time it will be private and smaller, if she does get married again—not 500 people,” says the momager.

“All they’re doing is taking it one day at a time," she added. "They’ll get to that stage at some point but right now they got a lot on their plate."

BABY NAME SUGGESTIONS FOR KIM AND KANYE WEST

Kim and Kanye West are indeed the proudest not to talk about happiest couple on earth today in the wake of Kim's recent pregnancy announcement, but another thing is to make sure their baby has the best name of all time! Something that tops the coolness and uniqueness of the beloved Blue Ivy Carter.
Luckily, BET.com had some rather interesting suggestions. Read on and have fun.

Kanye West Jr.
If there's anything Kanye thinks is great, it's Kanye. Naming the newest West after himself would just carry on the family tradition of awesomeness.

Karter
Jay-Z is more than just Kanye's musical mentor and former boss — Yeezy frequently called Shawn Carter his "big brother." What better way to pay homage to big bro and at the same time merge hip hop’s most powerful surnames — with a little bit of an unorthodox Kanye twist to it.

Teddy
We all know Kanye is strangely obsessed with teddy bears: He pictured himself as one on the covers of his first four albums.

Margiela
This kid’s going to be dressed to the nines from the day it’s born — it may as well have the name to match (getting a shout-out every time Jay-Z and ‘Ye perform “Paris” is just a bonus).

Rome
David and Victoria Beckham named a son Brooklyn, after the place where he was conceived; Kim and Kanye could do the same here. Plus, Yeezy is obsessed with all things Italian (cars, clothes, etc.). If he wants to keep it more domestic, he could always go with Chicago, his proud hometown.

Donda
Kanye and his late mother, who died in 2007 due to complications from plastic surgery, were extremely close, and he already named his multimedia company after her. Going the same route with the name of his first-born would be another touching tribute to her memory.

Robert
Kim, too, was touched by the death of a parent, her father Robert, a prominent lawyer, in 2003. Plus it’s Kim’s brother’s name as well.

Louis
If Kanye Jr. is too obvious, the self-proclaimed Louis Vuitton Don could pass on his name in this more subtle way.

Kimye
The perfect self-referential name for the genetic combination of two conceited, media-obsessed celebrities. Bonus: It’s unisex!

Power
No one child should have all this power, but the omnipotent spawn of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian has no choice. Born into supremacy, why not go with a name befitting of the circumstance.
