Lagosians took to the streets in protest of the high-handedness displayed by (Power Holding Company of Nigeria) P.H.C.N and their age long monopoly and manipulative slavery. Even with the advent of pre-paid meters (which is a sham) there has been no encouraging supply of electricity to the citizenry.
Hence they protested with placards saying:
"SAY NO TO CRAZY BILLING"
"NO PREPAID METER...NO PAYMENT"
"NO PAYMENT FOR PREPAID METER"
"PREPAID METER MUST BE FREE"
"NO TO EXTORTION...NO TO INJUSTICE".
NOTE: PHCN FORMERLY KNOWN AS NATIONAL ELECTRIC POWER AUTHORITY (NEPA) ESPECIALLY WITH THE MOST GLOBALLY COMMON PHRASE IN AFRICA....."UP NEPA" IS THE GOVERNMENT SET UP BODY CHARGED WITH THE DUTY OF REGULATING AND PROVIDING ELECTRICITY SUPPLY TO NIGERIA.
